Hello blush and highlight stick! I purchased this also just to try it out, I truly had no great expectations (same as the bronzer). I purchased this at Walmart for $7.00 in the shade 805 "Sweet Cheeks" although it may apply just like the bronzer, I'm not that big of a fan of this one.
So down to the nitty gritty, why not such a fan? Don't get me wrong, this did what it claimed it could do. It highlighted and added color to my cheeks. Unlike the bronzer, drawing a line could be a big mistake. This product is packed with color when it comes to the blush side of the stick. A line down the side of the face could look clownish. I feel like the product is advertised to make blush and highlight as easy as one sweep. I recommend not doing that.
I used this after applying my foundation, before my setting powder. I tried the one sweep motion and found myself quickly trying to recover from now what looked to be an over blushing face. I found that by rubbing the blush on my fingers then using my fingers to apply it made my life so much easier. When it came to the highlight side, I just drew it on as is, in its stick form. I used my fingers to blend it out, but a buffing brush would also do the trick.
This does have shimmer to it, but after blending out, it looked more like a glow. I think this could be worn all year round. I would have preferred this to not have been two in one. I would have like to have had a blush stick and a highlight stick. Unlike the bronzer, this did not work well together.
Would I recommend this? Yes, I think this was a cleaver and fun way to apply blush and highlight. Just when applying, I would use this as it were two products and not just one. Remember this packs a lot of color.
